China International Exhibition of Residential Envi

Environmentally friendly household products will take the stage in Beijing next fall at an
international exhibit. The China International Exhibition of Residential Environmental
Science is scheduled for October. Sponsored by the Ministry of Science and
Technology, the exhibition aims to encourage Chinese people and foreigners to promote
technology exchange and trade of environmentally healthy products for residences.

Sun Qijun, a division chief of the China Science and Technology Exchange Center said
continuously improving standards in China have made it urgent for people to pay
attention to their own environments. A fine living environment does not stop with
beautiful interior decoration, elegant furniture and a full range of modern household
appliances. It also stresses the use of harmless materials and products, Sun said.

However, pollution produced by various household products account for about half of
the city's pollution, according to the figures supplied by the center. Therefore, China
made this issue among it key focal points. Sun said China must create modern,
comfortable and pollution-free living environments for all citizens.
